Custom work begins long before the blade ever touches leather. From the first conversation to the moment the finished piece reaches your hands, every step is deliberate. My goal is to take your idea and turn it into something with weight, character, and a story of its own…built by hand, made to endure, and unmistakably yours. I’m not here to simply make leather goods. I want to creates pieces meant to follow you wherever life leads.
AVAILABLE PIECES
Available pieces are a rarity here. Nearly everything that crosses this bench begins with a name already attached to it…a custom piece designed, cut, carved, and built for one person alone. That leaves very little time for work without an owner waiting on the other side.
When one does surface, there are no production runs and no shelves filled with another just like it. Each is built entirely by hand, carrying its own marks, character, and imperfections. Some designs may never be made again.
These pieces appear when time and inspiration allow, and once they’re claimed, they disappear back into the dark.
ABOUT “THE FERRYMAN”
Creating has always been a part of who I am but first I’m a family man…a husband and father…and much of what drives me to build something lasting comes from them. That same inspiration comes from my love for the Carolinas…the blackwater rivers, cypress swamps, moss-covered oaks, and wild places that still feel untouched. There’s an old, haunting beauty here that finds its way into everything I make.
Before leather, I spent time as a tattooer. Though I eventually stepped away from the trade, it never left my work. The bold imagery, heavy contrast, fine detail, and storytelling of tattooing still shape nearly everything I make.
